Wireless location trade association formed by key players in the industry

Leading members of the wireless location industry have formalized the creation of the Wireless Location Industry Association (WLIA).

The association will focus on growing the wireless location industry, educating the public, lobbying regulators, endorsing industry standards through alliance building, tracking privacy issues, and developing self- regulating policies.

The founding members of the association include Cell-Loc, SignalSoft, GoAmerica Communications, Cambridge Positioning Systems, Zero Knowledge Systems, Indexonly Technologies, iProx and ViaVis Mobile Solutions.

"We are very pleased to play a key role in creating this very important trade association," said Dr. Fattouche. "As a pioneer in this emerging industry, Cell-Loc has sponsored several initiatives, including NEAR Magazine and a webcast symposium on wireless location, to create industry awareness."

Dr. Fattouche added, "Cell-Loc is also pleased to announce that Claudio Rodrigues, our vice president, marketing, is chair of the WLIA's interim board of directors. Rodrigues as been instrumental in creating the association."
