Siemens prototype wristwatch phone is a triband miniaturized
device that is operated by voice dialling and scrolling through the menu functions.
It has an integrated antenna, WAP 1.1, speaker and mic,
weighs 36 grams and has a volume of single 28 cm3, using a 550mAh battery.
Using it, you really need the handsfree mic that is bundled
with it. The sound quality for the prototype phone we used was excellent.
Siemens have placed the battery in the base/wriststrap of the
phone, so that the GSM module clips off the battery and can be used in other devices that
Siemens are developing to complement this technology.
The only draw-back is the lack of a key-board for inputting
names and writing SMS. There are only 2 major controls for input, which takes a while to
master. |
