Samsung E820 (SGH-E820)

The Samsung E820 is a T-mobile operator version of the Samsung E800 that is different only by the colour. Thanks to a keypad that can be tucked away, another device from Samsung is extremely compact and light – weighing only 85 grams: The SGH-E820 will be available from T-Mobile from summer 2004. The embedded rotating camera is ideal for self-portraits and photographs from unusual positions. The viewfinder is a large color screen. 64 polyphonic ringtones and a t-zones key ensure extra comfort with the SGH-E820 as well.
 

The Samsung E820 is a dual-band GSM 900 / GSM 1800 (DSC 1800) MHz mobile phone with WAP 2.0, GPRS Class 10 (4+1 / 3+2 slots) and support for SMS, EMS, MMS mobile messaging. PC connectivity is supported with infrared (IrDa) port and via RS232 cable also supporting EasyStudio Ver 1.0.0.1. It also comes with Java and 20 to 22 MB of internal shared memory for games, applications and storage.

It measures 87 x 43 x 23.5 mm, weighting 86 g with standard battery. With a standard Li-ion 800 mAh battery it provides 3.5 to 4.5 hours of talk time and up to 150 - 220 hours standby which is slightly less than the Samsung D410.

The phone features an internal TFT type LCD screen with 128 x 160 pixels resolution, 65,536 colours, which is bright and crisp like other Samsung screens. An inbuilt VGA 640 x 480 pixels / COMS camera is fixed to the back of the front part, so it is only possible to take pictures when the phone is open. At the same time it comes with Multi-Shot function, max x4 digital Zoom and a camera light (flash) allowing to take pictures in darker environment. The camera also allows taking up to 30 sec video clips in MJpeg format.
