The Globalstar Communications System introduces the newest Globalstar Tri-Mode Satellite GSP-1600 phone from Qualcomm.
This is the perfect phone for those who live/work remotely or travel the world and don't want to get into trouble by switching phone systems. The Globalstar Satellite GSP-1600 phone offers clear voice and data communications worldwide through three separate technologies, including Qualcomm's Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA 800 MHz) digital technology and North American analog (AMPS 800 MHz) for cellular service, and Globalstar for satellite

| The phone comes with a Globalstar antenna that allows the GSP-1600 to communicate with Globalstar satellites at elevations of more than 10 degrees above the horizon where cellular coverage is either unavailable or inaccessible.
Reception is best where there is a direct line of "sight" with the satellites. The GSP-1600 phone offers up to 270 minutes of talk time and up to 72 hours of standby time. Features include automatic mode selection, voice-mail service, Short Message Service, caller ID, data transmission and Low Earth Orbit satellite signal quality. Includes lithium-ion battery, AC charger and the Globalstar antenna.
