GPRS
(General Packet Radio Service) is the newest generation of mobile data
communication technology, and allows information to be received up to 4 times as
fast as conventional wireless data communication. This technology also allows
both voice and data communication to be combined, for example by receiving an
incoming voice call in the middle of a data communication session. Data
communication costs are also significantly reduced, because GPRS offers an ‘always
on’ connection in which users are only charged for the amount of data
transferred.
