What's New
With its innovative construction, materials, and
user-changeable top and bottom Xpress-on™ shells, the Nokia 5100 phone provides
improved protection against splashes, dust, and bumps. The rubbery surface
enables a firm and reliable grip.
The high-resolution, full-color display of the Nokia 5100 phone is sharp and
clear; check the approximate temperature, sound level, the calories you've
consumed and colourful images for the display wallpaper. The built in flashlight
can come in handy when you find yourself in the dark.
With the integrated handsfree the Nokia 5100 can be used as a speakerphone for
conversations, or the in-built stereo FM radio can be shared with a group.
(Note: when listening to the radio the headset must be connected since the cable
works as the antenna.)
You can have access to WAP services over GPRS, run data at speeds up to 43.2
kilobits per second in HSCSD networks, or send and receive multimedia messages
with text, color graphics, and photos.
Download new Java applications and games to your phone. And get new instrumental
MIDI ringing tones.
Take the Nokia 5100 phone along to five continents - it works in EGSM 900/GSM
1800/1900 networks.

dependent on the data quantity per item and shared memory available at a time in
the Nokia 5100:
- Phonebook - up to 300 entries
- SMS - up to 150 text messages or 50 picture/concatenated messages
- Calendar notes - up to 250 entries
- To-do list - up to 30 entries
- Fixed ringing tones - 11 preset, not removable
The following features share a memory pool of 725 kB:*
- MMS messages - max size 45 kB per MMS message
- Ringing tones in Gallery - 20 preset, all removable
- Images - 10 preset, all removable
- Java™ applications - 4 preset, max download size 64 kB per application
* Shared memory
The following features in this phone may share memory: Phone book, text and
multimedia messages, images and ringing tones in gallery, calendar, to-do notes,
and Java games and applications. Using any such features may reduce the memory
available for any features sharing memory. This is especially true with heavy
use of any of the features (although some of the features may have a certain
amount of memory specially allotted to them in addition to the amount of memory
shared with other features). For example, saving many images, bookmarks, Java
applications, etc. may take all of the shared memory and your phone may display
a message that the memory is full. In this case, delete some of the information
or entries stored in the shared memory features before continuing.
