Motorola 'Vader'
versions include:
V3688 (dual band 900/1800 MHz GSM) and,
V3682 (1900 MHz GSM)
Additionally, Motorola's technology platform will also
include CDMA and TDMA phone versions later in 1999.
With the popularity and customer acceptance of digital
technology increasing, Motorola's newest phone platform will also include a GSM 1900 MHz
model. It is also expected to be the smallest and lightest in its category upon commercial
availability and will incorporate the same features as the V3688. Expected availability:
first quarter 1999.
V3620 AMPS Phone:
With models weighing as little as 2.7 ounces and measuring an astonishing 4.2 cubic
inches, the V3620 phone is actually smaller in length and width than a standard sized
business card, and about the size of a Plen-T-Pak(R) of Wrigley's chewing gum, and weighs
less than four AA batteries. And with its optional auxiliary battery attached, this AMPS
cellular phone offers talk times from 65 to 175(a) minutes or standby times from 24 to
70(a) hours -- that's more than five business days of standby time.
Key features of the V3620 phone include:
VibraCall(TM) discreet alert; VoiceNote(TM) recorder and integrated digital answering
machine; Smart Button, one button access to internal phone book and menu; and dual battery
capability for maximum talk times.
