According to Three Mobile Insurance, a completely dedicated site specialising in insurance cover for mobile phones, PDA’s (smart phones) and ipods, most UK insurance claims for mobile devices were based on the following:

Water Damage
• 600,000 mobile phones were dropped in the toilet
• 400,000 mobile phones were dropped in drinks
• 200,000 mobile phones ended their life in a washing machine!

Theft
• 1.3 MILLION mobile phones were stolen
• ¼ were from unattended Vehicles
• Theft from young persons was up 32% last year

Loss
• An incredible 1.6 million mobiles were reported lost, some resulted from:-
• Lost on public transport
• Left on the top of the car
• Left on seats
