iBURST ROLLING OUT
THREE BASE STATIONS EVERY WEEK
Wireless Business Solutions (WBS),
provider of iBurst, has embarked on an ambitious plan to dramatically
improve coverage over the next three months.
The rapid network roll-out is part of a
recapitalisation of the wireless broadband provider following the
acquisition of 40% of WBS by a South African consortium of investors led
by Blue Label Investments.
According to Thami Mtshali, CEO of WBS,
“Our immediate priority is to boost coverage for our existing customers,
and then to expand our network to new areas.
iBurst customers will be the first to
experience the benefits of the recapitalisation thanks to investment in
coverage and a focus on providing improved customer support.”
WBS’s wireless broadband network uses
iBurst technology enabling high-speed mobile Internet access.
Alan Knott-Craig, Jnr has been
appointed as Managing Director with effect from 01 January 2006.
Knott-Craig, Jnr is a Chartered Accountant and was formerly the Managing
Director of Cellfind, a Wireless Application Service Provider that was
the first company in the Southern Hemisphere to launch passive
location-based services on GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications)
cellular networks
Mr Mtshali added: “The combination of a
capital injection and a highly professional team has created a platform
that will ensure the successful roll-out of broad band coverage and the
provision of customer service and care.”
