Mobile operator Orange Switzerland is offering live coverage of
football matches on mobile phones with Orange Live TV, behind-the-scenes
reports, results and team profiles from the 2006 Football World Cup in
Munich via the Orange World mobile internet portal.
Starting May 2006, one month before the start of the tournament,
users will be able to see match previews each week on Orange World.
From the start of the event on 9 June 2006, and in addition to the
live broadcasts via Live TV on the mobile phone, users will be able to
follow the results and other news on Orange World via SMS notifications.
In order to watch these matches on Orange Live TV, Orange users must
have a UMTS mobile phone.
Later this year Orange will launch HSDPA and start a mobile TV trial
with DVB-H.
