Vodacom Says VMobile Purchase Price is too high |
Feb 22 2006 Africa's second largest cell phone operator Vodacom said on Monday
that the asking price for Nigeria's Vmobile, which it had been pursuing,
was too high. "The asking price by Vmobile for control of their company is
considered too high," Vodacom said in a statement. Vodacom is half-owned by fixed line operator Telkom. The other
significant shareholder is British giant Vodafone, which is in the
process of raising its stake to 50 percent to match Telkom SAs 50%.
