China mobile music market revenue seen at 13.5 bln yuan by 2008

Revenue from China's wireless music market is expected to reach 13.5 billion yuan by 2008, according to Analysys International.

The group added that wireless music subscribers will reach 114 million by then, accounting for 20 pct of Chinese mobile phone subscribers.

'We forecast the wireless music industry in China will maintain stable growth in the following three years with CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 27%,' they said.

Analysys said China's wireless music market, which includes ringtones and music downloads via WAP and MMS, grew to 7.19 billion yuan in 2005 from 176 million yuan in 2003, with a CAGR of 539%.
