Verizon Wireless will expand
its VZ Navigator service to include the popular all-in-one mobile phone,
The V.
With VZ Navigator and The V from Verizon Wireless, customers can
access a wide array of Location Based Services (LBS) options, including
mapping, audible turn-by-turn navigation and the ability to find more
than 14 million points of interest.
Lee Daniels, director of enterprise product development for Verizon
Wireless, said, "When VZ Navigator launched on the Motorola V325 earlier
this year, it became one of the hottest new tools for customers and
received positive news coverage in publications such as Wireless Week
and PC Magazine Online. We are pleased to expand VZ Navigator to The V,
giving customers another valuable service on the popular all-in-one
device."
VZ Navigator is perfect for customers that are constantly on-the-go,
allowing them to see a map of their current location or an address in
the U.S., locate places such as restaurants, gas stations, banks and
other points- of-interest relative to their location, plus hear
turn-by-turn navigation with audible voice directions to an address in
the U.S.
Using GPS and Verizon Wireless' network, VZ Navigator securely
communicates valuable location information to customers across the
wireless network based on the day of the week, time of day and other
privacy settings they establish and manage right from their handsets. VZ
Navigator is powered by Networks In Motion and is enabled by the
enhancements Verizon Wireless has made to its award-winning wireless
network. These enhancements allow Verizon Wireless to offer products
using Global Positioning System (GPS) data and navigational information.
With VZ Navigator, customers get all the features of an advanced
navigation system on their mobile phone at a fraction of the price of
other GPS devices and systems. VZ Navigator is available in the getGOING
shopping aisle of the Get It Now virtual store beginning today for $9.99
for unlimited monthly access, or $2.99 for 24-hour use. Customers can
download the application directly to their LG The V or Motorola V325.
Download charges for Get It Now applications vary and airtime charges
apply when browsing, downloading and using certain applications.
Customers need a Get It Now-enabled handset and Verizon Wireless digital
service to access the Get It Now virtual store.
Customers can get VZ Navigator on The V, one of the hottest Get It Now-
enabled all-in-one devices from Verizon Wireless. Customers can stream,
download and play video clips with V CAST or shoot PIX and FLIX and
store them on an optional MiniSD external memory port. The phone's
QWERTY keyboard and Bluetooth wireless technology allows for easy usage.
The V is available for $149.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a two-year
customer agreement.
