Espoo, Finland - Nokia has signed a new contract
with Chinese operator Jiangxi Mobile Communications Co. Ltd (Jiangxi MCC)
for the further expansion of its GSM network. Deliveries have already
begun and the network expansion is expected to be completed during first
quarter 2005. With this expansion Jiangxi MCC will be able meet the need
for increased demand during the Spring Festival holiday season.
"We chose Nokia because of its ability to roll-out
the network in rapid time while also ensuring quality of service. This
expansion will improve coverage and capacity and enable us to continue
offering our customers advanced mobile services. In particular it will
help us meet the tremendous surge in demand for capacity during the
coming Spring Festival holiday season," says Mr. Huang Rigao, General
Manager of Jiangxi MCC.

equipment delivery is proof of Jianxi MCC's faith in Nokia's solution

Under the agreement, Nokia will supply its GSM
core and radio-access network infrastructure. In addition to network
equipment, Nokia provides an extensive range of services including
planning and implementation meeting the customer's needs for fast
ramp-up and high service availability.
