eXactmobile, South Africa’s largest Mobile Entertainment portal, in collaboration with Ster Kinekor, has developed an innovative way for consumers to purchase movie tickets using their mobile phone.

A first for mobile technology in South Africa, this function allows moviegoers to book and pay for their movie tickets using a credit card and a WAP enabled mobile phone. In addition consumers can view the seating layout of their chosen cinema and select their preferred seats.

Once the booking has been confirmed, a reference number is sent via sms to the mobile phone. All that remains is to swipe the credit card through a Ticketline terminal and collect a ticket printout. It is that simple!
