China Telecom and China Netcom have launched Little Smart SMS interoperation and 60 million China Telecom or China Netcom Little Smart users are now able to send and receive SMS within the PHS network now. It is part of the iPAS mobile system.

Guangdong Telecom also revealed that China Telecom is negotiating with China Mobile and China Unicom on an SMS interoperation agreement and Guangdong Telecom may sign an agreement with Guangdong Mobile on September 30. Guangdong Telecom has over 5 million Little Smart subscribers and SMS messages sent between Little Smart users has exceeded 40 million per month.

There are over 60 SPs providing over 1,000 wireless value added services for Little Smart users on Guangdong Telecom's platform. Charging rates within China Telecom and China Netcom's PHS networks or between their PHS networks is 0.08 Yuan per data piece and free for the receiver.

At present, SMS between China Mobile and China Unicom cost 0.15 Yuan per message.
