Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications is targeting a 7%-10% share of the global mobile phone market in 2004, compared to a 5.4% share in Q3-2003, according to Gunilla Nordstrom, company vice president. The company aims to be one of the five top-ranked handset firms in 2004. The company sold 7.1 million handsets in Q3-2003, an increase of 42% compared to the year-earlier period, helped by demand for its T610 camera phone. For the first nine months of 2003, the company has sold 18.8 million handsets.
