O2 Germany's CEO Rudi Groeger said the mmO2 alliance was eyeing up Bouygues Telecom, Cingular and AT&T Wireless, and some companies in Greece to join.

"Our focus is France, the U.S. and Greece because of the Olympics in 2004," Groeger said.

"The alliance board is talking to them and we will see when and if they will join," Reuters quotes Groeger.

The alliance currently includes mmO2's units in Britain, Germany and Ireland as well as Austria's One, Wind in Italy, Spain's Amena, Telenor Mobil and Hungary's Pannon GSM, and sunrise in Switzerland.
