HANOI - The Viet Nam Mobile Service Company (VMS) will spend US$100 million on developing its mobile phone network, Mobifone, between now and 2005.

Mobifone, one of the two largest mobile phone networks in Viet Nam, now has seven switchboards with a total capacity of 2 million phone numbers, 800 telecom transmit-receipt stations and nearly 400 transceivers nationwide.

Aside from traditional telecommunications services, VMS provides its subscribers with services such as short message system (SMS), WAP and MobiFone.
