South Africa's GSM network operator, Cell C has chosen Aircom's performance management tool, OPTIMA, to ensure that they achieve the optimum performance from their predominantly GSM1800 dual band network infrastructure. OPTIMA has been customised for Cell C and is fully integrated into the Siemens BSS BR6.0 environment.

OPTIMA has been rolled out across the country and is providing various departments the near real-time performance data they require in order to monitor and optimise their network.

 

All network performance counters from Cell C's Siemens infrastructure are fully integrated into the solution.

'We selected OPTIMA from Aircom because they were able to deliver the best technical functionality with added gains from user-friendly integration and customisation". Said Fred Coetzer, Cell C's Chief Operations Officer.

The Optima solution will allow Cell C to enhance their potential and compliment their existing performance measures and indicator capabilities.

 

Optima will also minimize the mean time to detect lowered performance levels in the network, enabling Cell C to uphold their commitment to maintaining an efficient and effective mobile network in order to continue providing world-class service to their customers.
