Benefon and CT Motion to deliver high accuracy location-based services

22 2 01

Rosh Ha'ayin, Israel - CT Motion, a leading developer of location-based services platform and applications and Benefon Oyj, a provider of wireless instruments for mobile location services and solutions, have agreed to jointly market high-end solutions for location-based services.

According to an agreement signed between the companies, CT Motion's CellebrityTM, an advanced telco-grade application management platform enabling the immediate deployment of mobile location services, will utilize positioning information retrieved from Benefon's wireless instruments, enabled by the Mobile Phone Telematics Protocol (MPTP) developed by Benefon, to facilitate a variety of mobile location services.

CT Motion and Benefon have accomplished successful trials and are now seeking to market the joint solution to mobile network operators around the globe.

The combined solution enables the rapid deployment of extremely high-accuracy location-based services without the need of a network change or upgrade. High-accuracy location-based services allow mobile operators to offer personalized B2B and B2C M-Commerce and information services, which previously would not have been possible. Operators thus gain a sustainable competitive advantage. They can build market share, increase customer loyalty and reduce subscriber churn.

The types of services that can be introduced include personalized advertising and M-coupons, Mobile Yellow Pages and travel related services. Safety and security services, content and lifestyle information applications and CT Motion's Mobile Workforce Management application, which enables the management of field workers and mobile professionals, are also easily supported.

"We value highly our collaboration with Benefon, a leading supplier of high-accuracy location determination technology. Our partnership combines the strengths of both companies' technologies: CT Motion's innovative mobile Internet location based services platform and applications with Benefon's state of the art wireless instruments", said Eyal Reshef, Director of Product Marketing at CT Motion.

"Based on their winning technology and commercial experience, we believe CT Motion is a leading provider of location based services platforms and applications. Together with our wireless instruments, the revolutionary Benefon Esc! GSM+GPS personal navigation phone and the Benefon Track Professional Telematics Phone, we have a winning solution for mobile network operators who wish to deploy location-based services", said Jukka Nieminen, Director Product Marketing at Benefon.
