Tone 9k allows ringtone conversion between several different formats and Communicator ringing tone format. User can compose with textual note display that is derived straight from other Nokia gsm phones, like 3210. Conversion is possible from e.g. MID (PC-Composer), RTTTL (Ringing Tone Text Tranfer Language) and from several other GSM phone ringing tone notes.

Ringing tone can be tested before converting and can be opened for editing with Communicator own composer straight from Tone 9k. Tone 9k has also advanced features to preserve ringing tone correctness when there is notes or octaves not supported by Communicator used.
