Information about REALgewi for Win32
RealGewi is not FREE, but commercial gateway and must be registered.
Gateway
features:
1) Handles session management, what regular HTTP is unable to do.
2) Converts WML plaintext files to compressed format (WMLC), which is
needed by most phones currently.
WAP Gateway is component which only redirects the material, so you will also
need the part, which serves/generates content. Such a thing can be
WWW-server equipped with CGI.
Features:
- Connectionless mode (only, for now)
- HTTP/GET and HTTP/POST.
- Asynchronous HTTP engine
- Supports proxies.
- WML -> WMLC converter
- supports variables.
- Normal and NT Service versions
For the latest changes, you should take a look on versions.txt file.
Installation :
Just run the REALgewi.exe program, and it starts to listen 9200 port for
connectionless mode.
Configuration of Nokia 7110 :
When you have made sure that your DialUp server is working, you need to
change the following from connection settings of your phone :
- Connection Type = Temporary
- IP Address = address for your gateway software.
Configuration of Nokia WAP SDK (1.2-1.3):
From Toolkit/Preferences, you need to do following :
- Select "Use WAP gateway"
- Gateway address = IP Address of machine where gateway is running.
- Select "Use Connectionless Mode"
- CL Port = 9200
