CellPhone Detector Plus detects mobile phone and 2-way radio transmissions. It sounds an alarm followed by a voice message requesting the user to turn their communication device off immediately. Compact and lightweight, the CellPhone Detector Plus is portable or can be easily wall-mounted. For convenience, the CellPhone Detector Plus can be powered by batteries or an AC adapter. It has an adjustable detection range of 2 to 30 meters outward from the unit.

It detects mobile phones and two-way radio transmissions in the continuous frequency range of 400 MHz to 2000 MHz, including all major communication formats in use around the world like GSM, CDMA, TDMA, PCS and two-way radio handsets.

This makes it ideal for enforcement of wireless  communication restrictions due to electromagnetic interference (EMI), wideband monitoring, and many other applications.

Advanced features include detection of both analog and digital cell phones, alarming upon Standby mode signals (when a cell phone is ON but a call is not in progress), and a remote alarm output for connection to an external device such as an annunciator panel or alarm system.

Hidden, front-accessible controls and external input/output jacks make it easy to adjust the CellPhone Detector Plus for a specific coverage area, detection method, or alarm mode. Also, for a larger or noisier area, the volume of the audio alarm can be easily adjusted or the audio output connected to an external speaker.

Compact and lightweight, the CellPhone Detector Plus is portable or can be easily wall-mounted. For convenience, the CellPhone Detector Plus can be powered by batteries or an AC adapter.

How Does Detector Plus Work?

The CellPhone Detector Plus continuously monitors – safely, without transmitting – for the radio waves emitted by wireless communication devices. This includes the short auto-registration signals that cell phones transmit to the base station when the handset is in Standby mode (i.e., ON but a call is not in progress). Upon detection of a transmission, user-selectable alarm(s) occur:

Audible Alarm — Broadcast through the CellPhone Detector Plus’ built-in speaker, a connected external speaker, or both.

What Communication Devices Does it Detect?

The standard CellPhone Detector Plus detects mobile phones and two-way radio transmissions in the continuous frequency range of 400 MHz to 2000 MHz, including all major communication formats in use around the world. This means the unit can detect analog and digital (for example, GSM, CDMA, TDMA) cell phones, cellular-like digital Personal Communication Systems (PCS/PCN) phones and two-way radio handsets. This makes it ideal for enforcement of wireless  communication restrictions due to electromagnetic interference (EMI), wideband monitoring, and many other applications.

Also available are options for extending the detection range of the CellPhone Detector Plus into lower frequency ranges.

What Is Its Coverage Range?
The CellPhone Detector Plus has a Sensitivity control that can be adjusted to accommodate coverage areas typically extending from 2 to 30 meters outward from the unit. Exactly how far the coverage extends for a particular application will depend on a number of factors, such as the physical environment and the strength of the signal being transmitted by the wireless communication device being detected.
