Vodago is a pre-paid system launched by Vodacom in November 1996.
In August 1999, Vodacom launched Incomer, which provides the user incoming calls for SAR120/year. This includes free voicemail retrieval and emergency 112 calls. A GSM 900 Mhz phone & Vodago SIM card are required.
No monthly contract or credit vetting is involved.

How it works:

Starter Pack:

Users purchase a starter pack which is bought off the shelf for around R10 to R95 (including 14% VAT).

The pack includes:

  • SIM (Subscribers Identity Module) card
  • A user manual
  • PIN (Personal Identification Number) number
  • PUK (PIN Unbloccking Code)
  • 10 minutes of free airtime

Vodago Exclusions

Roaming, Call Forwarding, Twincall, Yebo! Internet, Vodamemo, Operator Through Connect and Data/fax services are NOT available to VodaGo users.


Checking your available balance

Users have access to Vodamail, Vodacom's voice-message service and will be able to check their airtime credit at any time by punching *100# into the phone, or calling 5151.

A text message will appear on the phone's screen with the credit amount.
